Privacy Policy
Effective date: 3 August 2026
This policy explains how Strata Bar Ltd handles information when you use the STRATA TV application and its phone-based controller.
Who we are
Strata Bar Ltd is the data controller. Our company number is 17292353 and our registered contact address is 33 Church Road, Worcester Park, Surrey, KT4 7RJ, United Kingdom. You can contact us at strata@stratabar.co.uk.
Information we process
Depending on how you use STRATA, we process:
- account information supplied through the controller, such as your email address and account identifier;
- a randomly generated STRATA display identifier, activation code and the link between a display and its controller account;
- display settings, venue name, selected information modes, watchlists, schedules and messages you choose to send to the display;
- service information such as connection state, software version, update times and basic diagnostic events; and
- IP address and standard request information processed automatically by our hosting and security providers when the service is accessed.
The TV application does not request access to the TV camera, microphone, contacts, Wi-Fi network name, MAC address, Samsung advertising identifier or browsing history. The STRATA display identifier is generated by our application and is not the television's Samsung DUID.
Why we use this information
- to activate, pair and operate your STRATA display;
- to synchronise choices made on the phone controller with the TV;
- to authenticate accounts, provide subscriptions and prevent unauthorised access;
- to maintain reliability, diagnose faults and protect the service; and
- to respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.
We process this information where it is necessary to provide the service you request, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing STRATA, and where required to comply with law.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information and the TV application does not contain behavioural advertising. We use trusted providers to operate the service, including Google Firebase for hosting, authentication, cloud functions and database synchronisation. Providers may process limited technical information on our behalf under their own security and data-processing terms. Public news, sport, travel, weather and market information shown by STRATA is obtained from content services; we do not send those services your controller account details.
Retention and security
Account and paired-display information is kept while the account or display link is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide support, maintain security and meet legal obligations. Pairing codes expire and may be replaced. We use access controls, encrypted network connections and authenticated cloud services designed to protect stored and transmitted information.
Your choices and rights
You can unpair a display from the STRATA controller. You may also ask us for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of or a copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing. Contact strata@stratabar.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
If you are in the UK, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. If you are in the EEA, you may complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
Children
STRATA is a venue and household information-display service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
International processing
Our service providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate contractual and legal safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will remain available at this URL.
